washing machine hose

What is this connector at the end of my washing machine hose and what fitting do i need to connect it to the waste?

Currently it's just sat inside the waste pipe, and it was in my last flat too.

Also, I need some sort of waste pipe splitter so that I can put my tumble dryer condenser hose into it too. It doesn't fit into the 40mm pipe with the washing machine hose. Any ideas what I can get?

It will fit inside the stand pipe won't it?

Yes, it fits into the 40mm vertical pipe against the wall (stand pipe?)... but what's with the notches on the end of the pipe? Looks like they were put there for a purpose
