The knob on my Kenmore washing machine that I turn to select the proper cycle and starts the machine going stopped working. I bought a new knob, but I cannot get the bold that the knob screws onto to stop. I know that if you push the bolt, it should stop, but it does not. Do I have to buy a new timer in order to get a bolt that will not move so I can screw on the knob?
