Our Zanussi FL812 machine, 20 years old but never failing, has developed a smell not unlike rotten cabbage, following on from a boil wash. I figure something might have gone behind the drum. Is it possible to get in there to see what is happening?

Anything small should fall into the sump which can be accessed from below, pull w/m out and tilt back to 45 degrees and rest on counter to access, looks like a black rubber belows.
