Hi,
We are replacing our bathroom and have found waste pipe of various diameters, including stuff marked in inches.
All the different sizes are confusing and the OD's don't seem to match the name.
Is there a Waste pipe chart somewhere with, OD diameter by known name

All your ever likely to find in a domestic bathroom is 1 1/4 (32mm) and 1 1/2 (40mm) 2 main types solvent weld and push fit .
They are not compatible! Preferably use solvent weld .

And you can transition from pushfit to solvent with compression fittings.

Only 2 you really need to remember for waste pipe. PolyP and ABS, there is no need for you to use PVC (pressure pipe).

PP is for push fit fittings. ABS is for solvent weld. Each is to suit their own specific fittings. Compression fittings are interchangeable.

Can I recommend that the only one you want to use is ABS and solvent weld. They are both specified as 11/2" and 11/4" or 40mm/32mm. These are ID but the solvent weld couplers are specific to ABS and have a large OD.
