hello ladys and gents not sure if i'm going to be any good at describeing this but here goes, we recently noticed a realy bad smell comeing from a cupboard downstairs we lifted a couple of floor boards an underneath you could see the brick work under the house and a bit of a bad flood. the cupbord backs on to our downstairs bathroom so we calld out a plumber he came out and pumpd out as much of the water as possible and repaird the shower waste which he showd me was leaking quite badly he said to leave the boards up for the ground to dry and when i came down the next morning there was a lot of water down the hole again i calld him back and he came back out to take a look pumpd out the water again but this time when he flushd the toilet a few times you could see the water starting to collect again unfortunatley that side of the plumbing work is on the other side of a small wall under the house and the only way to get at it is to take up the tiles on the bathroom floor take out the toilet and take up the floorboards to get at the main waste pipe im just wondering how much this is going to cost on average for work like that to be done?

He wasn`t much of a plumber if he didn`t offer a solution and give you a ballpark price - I`ll bet he was Gas Safe - they don`t like to get their hands dirty  . If you want to keep the tiled bathroom floor it may be possible to route the soil pipe through the wall and into the drain outside - I`d get a decent builder and get a price from them for this
