Hello,
Please advise: can I connect an overflow to the main roof’s downpipe, from a waterbut that collects water from a gazebo? Distance is 2 meters.
Many thanks!

Certainly not; it's high treason and the water company's monitoring system will detect the extra volume, police will attend immediately and haul you away..

Shame that power socket is there otherwise I'd have proposed moving the butt into the corner and diverting the downpipe through it, but that would make the socket awkward to access, so a long overflow pipe may be the solution. Where does the water from the gazebo guttering go otherwise, if there was no butt?

You could run an overflow pipe around the wall but as robinbanks said, socket is in the way.
You could for a quick fix, attach a length of ordinary garden hose at a suitable height to the water butt, then run that at ground level, around the wall, underneath the socket, and just lay in the soak away.

Thank you both, super useful. Water from the gazebo otherwise would just go on the floor which we want to avoid.
