Hello All

First time on site and looking for advice.

I switched on my Central Heating for first time in about 7 months (live in a flat and tends to be warm as middle flat).

After switching the heating on all went well all radiators were warm.

However, after switching the heating off I can still hear the water flowing in the flow pipes that are near the boiler. I have examined the pipes and the radiators to see if any leaks but find none (pipes that are visible).

I then switched the heating on again the following day and again heating worked as normal.

Again, I can hear the flow of water in the pipes and this is continous running 24hrs a day for the past 3 days.

Can anyone explain what is going on or how I can fix it ??

thanks

Some boilers control the pump and keep it running for a few minutes after the heating goes off to prevent the boiler overheating. This is normal and it is referred to as pump overrun.

However, sometimes the PCB inside the boiler that controls this function becomes faulty and it keeps the pump running 24/7

Can you locate your pump and see if it is running permanently? If it is, details of your boiler make / model will no doubt enable someone to advise if it has the overrun facility or not.
