Hi Folks,

Got a bit of a problem with water flowing from the overflow outlet into my bath, i.e. the thing the plug hangs off, not sure of the proper technical term;-).

The taps are mixer types with a shower over if that's of interest. I'm wondering if perhaps it means there's a seal needing replacing in the taps or something like that.

Can anyone think what the problem is?

Thanks in advance,

jahman

Suggest you check the toilet cistern (and cold water tanks if you have them) for overflowing. Sometime ago it was common practice to run all the overflows into the bath overflow connection if it was too difficult to get them to discharge externally. No longer allowed.

Hi giblets,

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have a look but I'm actually in a modern flat built in 1997. Would this be likely in a property of this age?

Cheers,

jahman

Yep the WC valves wants looking at.

You can still buy the fitting that replaces the bath overflow, although with integral overflo's they are no longer needed

Yeah, thanks guys. Looks like that is indeed the cause. One of my toilet cisterns is overflowing. Bloody stupid set up if you ask me although I suppose it shows there's a problem.

Cheers,

jahman
