Everytime I turn on the cold water tap in the kitchen theres loud noises (water hammer?) in the cold water bath tap in the upstairs bathroom. How can I get rid of it?

Tried to change the kitchen tap washer but it doesn't have one! Apparently its one of this fancy new taps without traditional washer, I think there might be some sort of ceramic disk inside.

Quite likely  .is the mains water pressure high ? .fitting a pressure reducing valve on main after it enters building will sort it .IF it`s too high .turning down stopcock will only reduce flow, not pressure .hth.

We used to have conventional (tanks in the loft) central heating but changed to a combi last year so its all at a higher pressure than before. Where can I get a pressure reducing valve and will it cause my combi any problems?
