Hi all

I have a slight leak coming from the bottom bolt of the isolating valve on a copper pipe. I have covered the thread in water hawk sealing compound, is it okay to apply more compound even though water has gone through it?

Thanks, Paul.

Assuming its a normal compression fitting the seal is not made on the thread, it's on the olive. Isolate at the main stopcock and split the fitting, put your joint compound around the olive and refit.
