Hello,

We are currently having a garden awning installed to external wall of our house and to do so, the installers will need to drill holes and insert long joists into the wall to hold the awning

It's currently tipping it down, is it a bad idea to do this in the rain in terms of water ingress getting into the holes and behind our silicone render and insulation?

Will it likely cause us issues in the long run?

Thanks

Installer has now cut a hole in the insulation but found the wall to be hollow where they have cut so having to do another hole above the original...

We will now have to fill the hole below and patch render over it. I'm dreading the end result - it doesn't look good so far

What do you think?
