Hi all,

This is the first time I have posted to this forum, but have been using it for a long time for how to help.

I have decided to move my kitchen around so I can have a french door fitted, the problem I have is the position of the new door is where the sink is now and the water main comes up out the floor under it.

The kitchen is an extension on the back of the old kitchen (1980's ??) I have checked next door and the old main came up under the floor by the old window, I have looked under the floor boards and where I expected to find a nice join onto the new pipe I found a cut off piece of black pipe and no sign of the new one :? :?

The connection to the water main is at the front of the house and the extension is at the back with no access other that through the house, so I dont think they would have put a whole new pipe to the extension :?

So if that makes any sense to anyone.. anyone got any ideas what would have been done and where to look for my pipe (might have to break up the kitchen floor :( )

Thanks

Tom

choices run it through the house up/down round under  or dig a hole in the kitchen floor :?

Yes I think whatever happens I will end up digging up the kitchen floor :(

I'm sure there was a reason for it not being extended from the old pipe
:? but I don't know what it would be.

I only need to move it 2 metres, can I join the pipe under the floor? ie: dig a trench from existing position to new one and put a 90 joint in then across floor and up into new position ? how deep would I need to go ?

Thanks :)

Is it not a good idea to join the main ? obviously if it develops a leak under the floor it's not going to be good!

Any advise on joining the pipe would be good ?
