Hi, when it rains I get a water patch on the exterior of my house.

Look at the pics below but it seems to start from where there is a clip in the mortar to hold the satellite cable.

Any ideas as to a diagnosis and how I can fix it?

Thanks

JH

Perhaps water is dripping down, from the point where the gutter meets the down pipe, and hitting the cable clip.
You dont seem to have a running outlet - is the guttering extruded Alu?
Its inevitable in theses cases that someone has to go up on a ladder.

Looks like the old classic water running down the cable to me.
It seems so obvious now that you've said it. The cable comes from over the roof (over the top of the guttering) and this is the first point it touches the wall.

any quick fix for it?? or do i need to think about re-routing the cable

btw the guttering is extruded aluminium

If you have some slack you could try pinching the cable
with a zip tie were it comes over the gutter to create a drip edge.
Another option is to put a zip tie on the cable were it meets the gutter and with the tail end sticking down it could encourage the water to track down the zip tie
into the gutter instead of continuing down the cable.

You could zip tie the cable to the down pipe, that way it will keep the water off the wall.
