Water Tank in loft

Is it necessary to remove the water tank in loft when fitting a condensing combi boiler.The water cylender downstairs is being removed.

Was just wondering is there a purpose in doing this

Unless you are planning on using it to supply a pumped shower unit then it is just an unneccesary tank of water and pipework in your loft than can split, leak or go wrong.
