Water temp adjustment shower

I've read therough the user manual removed the cover and have access to the spline and have turned in an anti clockwise movement until it will turn no further and the hot water is just hot, i can keep my hand under it. Also in this setting once i replace the thermostat handle when i adjust the thermostat back to the cold in a clockwise direction the cold is now warm. Arrrggggg this can not be surely i should be able to get scalding hot water and cold water. Any advice very welcome. I'm so dissapointed with Bayswater products so much so that im replacing my whole Bayswater bathroom thats only 2 years old but unfortunately I'm keeping the shower
