Currently hot water gets too hot - thermostat attached to hot water tank does not control it even after replacement.
If CH is on first then hot water will not respond so have to have one or other on. The Myson Power extra motorised valves one under stairs other in airing cupboard have been changed.

At moment have hot water on timer followed by CH on timer to start after hot water has stopped - only way to keep warm in morning, but have found that CH is not coming on and nothing will make it start up unless washing machine is turned on (it fills from hot water) then CH mysteriously kicks in about 10 mins later. Totally stumped  , any ideas??

have a oil fired burner (firebird), water system fills from tank in loft (not a sealed system then)

thanks

Suspect a wiring problem. Bad contact, wire come loose, something like that.
