Hi,

Not sure if this is a common problem with an easy solution but when diluting water based emulsion for new plaster etc, the paint seems fine for a short while but then seems to thicken again, almost as though the water is not mixing with the paint properly and laying on top (even though it seems mixed in well)

Is there any solution to this?

Many thanks !!!

What paint are you using?..it could be a thixotropic one with a false body..normally sold on the DIY market

Or it could be that its not mixed enough and the thicker stuff is at the bottom of your bucket.

If it has been left for a while the pigment may also settle towards the bottom.

I thin me paint down with a drill and a small paddle.

Oh, and water of coarse......
