Hi all.

I have an extension which is built out of block work. I intend the get this rendered to match original house.

My question is this, I have decided to hack off the original render and have the lot rendered with a k-rend or equivalent.

For now (and the winter) can I simply waterproof the block work until spring when I plan on getting the lot done??

In the mean time I am changing a few bay windows and hacking the old render off.

I have searched but not really found a simple answer to this question.

Many thanks

Lath and polythene.

Any chemical coating could affect the render adhesion later.
