Morning.

I'm levelling my garden shortly. Currently my garden slopes down to the base of our garage wall. However, I'll be raising the garden a few feet next to the garage wall. I will be building a retaining wall and leaving a gap of about 6-10 inches between this and the garage wall - at the bottom of this gap will be the drain runoff for the garden water and obviously drainers in the retaining wall for the water to come out.

My question is (by the wall the garage wall is rendered) do I need to waterproof the garage wall in case water flows against it or the drain blocks and this gaps fills with water?

If so, how can I do it? What can I use?

Cheers.

Thanks but the garden will drain towards this wall so there needs to be some sort of drainage, etc. Therefore I thought best to waterproof the garage wall? Not sure.

I had a builder come and he mentioned 'tanking' the wall but this sounded excessive to me.
