Hi all,
I've got a Victorian house with steps up to the front door, and with a basement front door (and storage space) underneath them. They've been rendered in something, perhaps bitumen-based, way back in time but the render is cracked and leaks in places now.
I can't afford to have them professionally re-felted or anything elaborate but a builder suggested in passing that I could patch the cracks and all vulnerable points using a mixture of Sika 4a + 1 part sharp sand + 1 part cement.
Does anyone have any experience of doing this, or any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Helen
