Can all new toilets with an inlet fill valve, (not old style ball çock valve) be filled from tank as well as mains?

Most fill valves can be adapted to operate on low pressure ( tank ) or high pressure ( mains ) by changing part of the valve.

This is the nozzle that feeds water through the valve, large diameter for low pressure and small diameter for high pressure.

Some valves cannot be adapted so you would then have to buy the low pressure version of the valve

Thanks Bernard, the toilets that I have been looking at don't seem to say anything on the instructions about low/high pressure fill, so is it pot luck?

Also if u put a high pressure valve on a low pressure fill will it just take longer to fill or not work at all?

For low pressure remove the screw type resistor from the inlet if fitted.
Some have them and some don’t. Sometimes comes as an extra.
They just pull out.
