Cistern not filling

Hi,

My bathroom has a high pressure pump connected between the tank and bath, basin and toilet. I have just installed a new toilet which flushes fine but the cistern will not fill up again unless I turn either the bath or basin taps on (for a moment) which causes the pump to turn on and then the cistern fills up as normal.

I guess it's to do with the pressure but the previous toilet worked fine. I did change the inlet pipe for a flexible hose and the cistern is modern apposed to the old ball float type.

Do I need some kind of extra valve fitted?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Martin

I suspect you have left a pressure reducing component in the feed to the toilet. It slows the water down and therefore there is not enough flow to start the pump.

There was some kind of plastic component inside the inlet but I already removed it.
