i'm planning on installing a new bathroom and soil stack, i've seen a few different connectors. The toilet will come through the wall approx 1.5m from the stack. Is there are reason for one vs the other- Y/T into the soil stack? Surely a T would require a 90degree connection which wouldn't allow for a fall in height? I'm obviously missing something here so any advice very welcome!

The 'T' is actually 92.5deg, not a 'true' 90. The 2.5deg allows for the slight fall needed in the pipe.
I thought I was slow. (Especially after going back to correct all my mistakes!)

Thanks for that. I WAS missing something obvious then! Just out of curiosity, does either have any advantages? also any tips on lining up? Presumably i need to get the wc hole in wall before fitting the soil pipe.

Hole in the wall first then line up branch. You could use a piece of timber, string, level etc to line up the branch but at 1.5m away it won't be difficult. Either Y or T branch but i'd prefer a T. A Y on the outside of the building will look a bit naff IMHO.
