Weird olive

Probably 1/2" pipe, but a 15mm olive should fit, even if a little tight to push on. If it keeps leaking wrap some ptfe around it.
Old imperial style compression joint with a conical olive. They would usually flare the end slightly when compressed to obtain the watertight seal.
If its a new fitting and olive on the old pipe and the old pipe is an imperial 1/2" then a 15mm olive will be tight on the pipe. I would advise you take it apart again and clean the pipe up nice and shiny and use a copper olive. If not then a wrap or 2 of tape as @dilalio suggests
