Does anyone know how to refit the pin in a western trv. I accidentily removed it entirely when trying to free when stuck closed.

Thankfully I only had a small trickle when it came out and have since pushed it back in to stop any water flow, but it is clearly not in properly and protrudes too much.

I am no plumbing expert and have very little knowlege of these things. Have I knackered the valve or can it be refit somehow?

I have seen something about draining, but do not know how or why this would work. I have never drained the system and wouldn't know where to start.

Any advice would be gratefully received!

It'l be cheaper to replace the valve with a decent one - westherm valves are notorious for sticking, fit a Honeywell VT117 in its place ;)

Thanks for the tip. I managed to speak with a couple of plumbers yesterday and from what I can make out, the pin can't be refitted. Looks like replacement is the only option.

Definitely won't be making this mistake again!
