Wet Joists

Hi,

I need to go and look at a bathroom floor that got flooded and the water came through the ceiling into the kitchen below. I was just wondering if there was anything i should put on the timbers to prevent them rotting or if they will be ok?

If a just one-off soaking then they will dry out in due course, assuming the property is adequately heated and ventilated.

Rot only sets in after timber has been subjected to a prolonged soaking or dampness.
