Hi guys, need a bit advice reg my tiled wet room floor. Had tiler come in and tile my floor with a Mcalpine drain fitted. About two months later the tile grout cracked and they began to move, surprise surprise tiler nowhere to be seen!!!!! I have lifted the tiles myself and found the floor underneath soaking! Just looking for advice on how to do the job correctly as I have read on prev posts about tanking which I know wasn't done the first time. I am a boiler engineer to trade so please be very detailed as I am new to this

Any help would be greatly appreciated

By construction I take it you mean how the original was laid? when Ilifted it it was just two layers of tiles (to get correct height for drain I assume?) and tiled straight onto my 22mm flooring no ply etc.

Thanks mate, been on and ordered a BAL tanking kit, some proper BAL adhesive and apoxy grout. Just need to ply the floor and work out how to get my run for the drain, any ideas??

Also is there a sealant available to cover over the wall tiles? From what I have read these should also have been tanked behind and weren't. Really don't want to have to take them down as they are straight onto plaster board and it would make a hell of a mess.

Going to do all the prep myself and had a tiler in today to give me a quote for the tiling, getting donenext weekend sothnks for all the advice guys. Any boiler/heating probs give me a shout
