Howdy all
I am renovating a full house but this one is going to be one for my family to live in. i can and have installed C/H systems before and have a lot of professional plumbers on back up (i'm a sparky by trade).
I understand the aluminum spreader plates are going to be the best to install but they are also pretty damn expensive, so is the foiltec any good as a alternative?
what about the foil backed kingspan is this a viable option to install under the pipe work then install noggins to support the pipes or is the heat loss to great or not spread evenly.
thanks for looking i would be grateful for any help or suggestion

The Aluminium plates "Conduct" heat giving an even floor temperature
foil faced insulation products such as Kingspan or Cellutex would not produce the same results - i'd go with the correct alloy spreader plates!
putting a UFH system right POST installation can be Very Very expensive! ;)

another user (foxhole) has informed me that aluminum spreader sheets can cause hot spots and the 25mm sand cement screed is a better option.
what about weight issues? all floors (3) are suspended and fairly large areas would the i need a structural report to determine how much they can take. and how does the heat transfer through the sand cement mix
