I m about to install a whale shower gulper pump

The instructions are here https://www.whalepumps.com/psd/site...ce-library/180.127_v7_0117_warranty_db_th.pdf

It says "• Inserts should not be used with plastic waste pipe." - How can this be the case and is it from the gulley all the way to the pump that plastic should not be used ?!

I am using rigid plastic pipe but still want to make sure that there is no leak - I will support the pipe run as well

Nope, plastic can be used, it just means that inserts shouldn't be used as that narrows the outflow pipe and could cause issues. If elbows are used with the plastic pipe outflow then inserts aren't needed as the pipe joins don't need to take much in the way of pressure so are not liable to blow off.

Inserts are primarily there to support the pipe walls to stop deformation and keep the pipe tight into the grab ring primarily when the pipe is carrying mains water pressure and flow. When it's carrying the waste water from the pump there is very little pressure (0.1bar) so the inserts aren't as important

Thank you - Makes sense - Always like to check these things
