Eric, you do obsess about the smallest of things!
If you really want to know if it's the car or the charger, disconnect the Jags battery and charge it off the car...
...then build a Faraday cage around the car and reconnect the battery, and retry.
...and don't be surprised if you get an unexpected phone call from Jaguar asking for you by name and doing a 'customer satisfaction survey' at 12:02, while the voice recognition software records every uttered sylable.
