Hi,

Seen these phrases mentioned on a couple of the specs of wireless programmable stats, what do they mean? They mention you can adjust the time???

Is it basically, the signal from stat to boiler (to gas valve, motorised valve etc) is delayed so it doesn't come through when it shouldn't ie when boiler is about to fire. For example, my sunvic one shuts off as soon as temp at stat is reached, regardless of where the boiler is at in its cycle which is. this is why i am in the process of changing it.

Do the better stats know?? etc what boiler is doing and not send signal until cycle finished or what?

Any help much appreciated.

Hi,

Anti cycle means they stop the boiler cycling on and off on its internal thermostat, when heat is not required. This will save (a little) energy.

Pump over run means the pump keeps running after the boiler has stopped, taking the remaining heat out of the boiler.

Don't know about output delay.

No reason not to have them if they're available.

Output delay is an anti-cycle feature. It prevents the control calling for heat if it just stopped calling heat. The delay is usually configurable up to perhaps 15 minutes. "Anti-Cycle" could be anything, but is usually just this same feature. Good boilers already have this built in, so you wouldn't need to pay more for it. In fact it is better to have it built in to the boiler.

Pump overrun, as explained, keeps the pump running for a few minutes when heat is no longer demanded by the controls. Again, this is something that most new boilers will do anyway. Boilers vary, but better ones give you the option of running the pump continuously (or not) when heat is demanded, even if the boiler is not actually firing.
