I am trying to insulate my house first floor i.e putting insulation between joists so that I can install underfloor heating. what is the best cost effective insulation and what is the thickness
If it's the first floor then thermal insulation isn't really useful. The ground floor and first floor will be the same temperature.
Acoustic insulation is more complicated. For cost effectiveness you're probably looking at dense rockwool slabs. Not loft stuff, which is more light and fluffy, but cavity battons.
yes it is the first floor. the the ground floor has already been done with 100mm ridged broad, underfloor heating and screed. I am trying to insulate the first floor so that I can fit my aluminum heat spreader plates. what is the thickness. 100 or 150mm
