Any ideas what this cable is ? Looking to soundproof a wall but this is in the way.it enteres from the outside and runs along the wall to the middle of the lounge behind the tv. ( the cable on the left not the open reach master socket ). Thanks !

It looks like incoming cable TV but a photo of the cable end in the house and info of where it goes outside will help, such as does it go underground or go up the wall to something etc...?

Outside?
From where.
(More information is required.)
It looks like incoming cable TV
Well, NO.
(In my experience, 300 Ohm Ribbon TV cable never looked like that.)

It is a cable with a "single Insulated" pair of conductors.
which has been allowed for use only on Extra Low Voltage installations
(such as "Speaker Cables")
for over the last 25 years!

Before that, such a single insulated cable could have been used for energizing 240 V (Non Earthed) lamps,
which is no longer permitted.

For safety, you cannot 100% rely on anybody identifying a cable just from a photo, and you should trace where it goes to be absolutely sure before cutting it, but I absolutely agree with plugwash that it does appear to be the shotgun coax cable commonly used for Sky+ satellite TV.

Shotgun cable... both same diameter and almost invariably used for Satellite in a single dwelling.
Most likely $ky WF65 (4.5 mm od). Outside it'll go to the LNB on a dish. Inside it'll go to a satellite box or be disconnected with F-plugs on the end.

Shotgun Virgin cable is different diameters one larger than the other the coax usually being 6-6.5 mm od and the telephone two twisted pair a lot smaller.

If satellite reception is not needed the cable can be taken out and the holes in the wall filled (and the dish removed in the fullness of time.
NB this assumes you are the dwelling owner and not in a rental (where Landlord approval would be needed).

Shotgun cable can be used by some CCTV cameras too but in this case satellite does seem the most easy answer with limited info
