Hi all,

I am about to buy a house and the surveyor (and I) noticed that where the extension is attached, there is an expansion joint from floor to roof on the outside of the wall. This appears as a slot about 1cm or a bit more wide, about 1-2cm deep, with the metal expansion joint at the bottom of the slot

What material/mastic/expanding foam should I use to fill and water proof this gap? Asked at local builders suppliers - didnt know what I was talking about.

Cheers Masona,

guess I should have done a better search before I asked the question - that seems to be exactly the answer I needed.
