I have just changed an internal door frame. It is bare wood. I have to match it with other internal doors which is dark oak oily colour. What should I do? By 2 step, dye+finishing oil(colourless) or 1 step, non-drop gloss/wood primer/satin? I am new to do this. Any advice is highly appreciated.

I am so sorry. I am not sure. The other doors look dark and oily, may be they are the stain/varnish. Those doors are very old. I was told by a carpenter I should use some sort of paint repeatedly to achieve that colour.

Well if the Carpenter said you should apply numerous coats of paint to achieve this I would assume them to be a stain/varnish and even if my guess was right would they be Matt, Satin, or Gloss. The only way any of us could help would be more imfo or at least a pic
