We are getting the kitchen done up, all new units etc..

on the walls there use to be tiles, i have taken them down,

We are going to paint the walls where tiles use to be.

Obviously the walls have to be skimmed before hand.(Shall be getting someone in to do that)

Is it worth getting as much of the tile cement stuff of the walls ? Or is it better to leave it to the guy whos going to be skimming the walls? (ie i dont want to do it and then cause him more work)

Remove as much of the tile cement as possible, it’ll make your plasterers job much easier & you don’t want to be paying his day rate for something you can easily do yourself; a steamer or hot water will help with removal, especially the tough bits. Don’t worry too much about little scrapes & gouges but rough fill any holes where the plaster comes away with the adhesive.
