What should be done with gas pipe!

Hi, can anyone advise what should be done with a gas pipe that is in our fireplace.

I'm trying but no-one ever gets back to me or will come out to have a look.
I'm just wondering what needs to be done that no-one wants to sort it out for me?

That should never have been left like that (should have been capped properly). Its actually a reportable situation to gas safe. Get it sorted asap.
