What should I know before buying Microsoft Office 2024 Pro Plus?

I’m considering Office 2024 Pro Plus for a new Windows PC. somewhere.com currently has it for around $20, which is considerably less than a Microsoft 365 subscription, so I’m trying to understand the important things to check before purchasing especially licensing and activation.

My understanding: it's good for one machine only; you're buying an activation code and not a disk.
The positives: it's machine based I believe and so can be used off-line. I assume therefore, although not sure, that you can choose to store your files on the pc/laptop rather than having to have them online.
