Hey there

I have a piece of wood that is 1cm thick

It has a 8mm hole in it.

I want to fix the piece of wood to the wall which is plasterboard.

What size screw do I need?

I was going to use a wall cavity anchor plug that is 8mm because I'm going to hang something heavy from it that weighs about 10kilos.

Pls help

Thanks

Hey

So I have a 30cm X 50cm piece of wood that I want to attach to my plasterboard wall.

Currently there are three holds across the top and one in the middle.

Is that the right position for the holes in the wood? Or should I drill the holes as two at the top and two at the bottom?

Which positioning is the strongest to drill the holes for when I attach it to the wall?

Thank you

Is it a coat hook? How big is the wooden backplate?

Post some photos please.

Behind the plasterboard is probably wooden stud work or a brick or block wall. Which is it? The age of the wall may give some clues. This will guide best practice.

What sort of drill have you got?
