I have been wondering what to do with this garden since I moved in a year ago. Here are some photos:
As you can see, its uneven. I am going to gravel the driveway, and use some landscape containment for this (plastic eggcrate stuff). I would like to pave the rest of the garden (except the lawn) with cheap slabs (I have rubbished the deck idea since I found out how much it would cost), but not sure how best to go about it. Can you screed over the concrete to level it? I really dont want to dig it up!
In particular, I need to know how to raise the manhole cover up to the new level (its already sunk down!). Is it just a case of taking the lid and frame off, adding a course of bricks / slates, and then relaying a frame? Is the frame just bedded down onto cement?
