Hi,

I've bought a log cabin for my garden as an office, and I have been informed by the seller that I should treat it with barn paint. I am finding it very difficult to source some as they barely do any colour variants.

Is there anything else or any other type of paint that you would recommend for being suitable for the job?

It cost a few thousand so don't want a cheap wood preservative

I am looking for a greyish colour for the finish.

Thanks.

I used Sandtex smooth masonry paint on a shiplap garden shed 14 years ago. It went on easily, with a brush, but did start flaking after about 7/8 years. The tin said not to use on wood, but it worked for me and was a lot cheaper than the wood specific paints if I recall correctly.

Good luck with your final decision.

Cheers,

Blup
