i really haven't got a clue decided on an electric shower but now im not sure if i would get away with a mixer shower after reading some of the other posts can anyone give me some advice my boiler is a combi boiler, Glowworm 30cxi with an inlet supply of 20 mbar which makes no sense to me what so ever , yes another women that doesn't no what shes doing  any advice would really be appreciated x

You have two choices...

1) an electric shower that heats mains cold water, like a Mira Sport. Different power ratings need different power supplies, but I'd never go lower than 9.8Kw. Get the electrics done professionally. Easier for plumber to install but could give you a hefty electrics bill if your consumer unit thing is not up to current standard.

2) a mixer shower, that mixes cold mains water with hot water from your combi boiler. Thermostatic showers much better, they control the heat output to a constant temperature ie. no sudden hot/cold if someone else flushes a loo or runs hot tap. Bit mopre work for plumber to fit, but no electrical work involved. (ie Mira Excel, Mira Element, Mira Discovery)

Decent water pressure would be an advantage for both types really.

... and no, I don't work for Mira!

Shower off the combi will give you a far more powerful better shower than even the biggest electric one ,BUT when the boiler breaks down you will be left with no form of hot water till its fixed.
