What would you do with this garden . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ?

Hi, we've just moved in to a new house (new to us) and we have a front garden that, well . . . it's not the prettiest. Trying to think exactly what to do with and would be grateful for any thoughts. Don't mind a little graft to get it nice but it will all be DIY so nothing too taxing. Lifting that craaaazy paving is a defo though, v ugly. Hope you can help.

Any chance of a photo from further back, how big is the area? Are you a keen gardener (be realistic here)

Im a big fan of large herbacious border in front gardens for impact upon arrival but they require some maintenance. (mainly spring and autumn)
