leaving aside the question of how many of them are overpaid...

Lots of pension schemes are in deficit following drops in investment values.

where did you imagine the money for BBC wages and pensions comes from then? The tooth fairy or advertising revenue?

......plugging up the hole in the staff pension fund. Yep, £100m a year is going to prop up exec golden pensions.

Personally im outraged.........

This is an easy one to fix.... set up a facebook page called "boycot the licence fee from September the 3rd" (arbitrary date, with time to find an audience) and then 100's of thousands of people don't pay their licence from September onwards.... the BBC crumble under the lack of dosh!!

This is like giving the missus £100 to do the weekly shop, she goes and blows it all at the bingo having not won anything, then comes back asking for more.

Although in theory, this sounds like a good idea, the people who actually participate will be breaking the law. . . Dont think it'll actually happen. Ever. Its like setting up a Tescopoly group telling everyone that shops at Tesco to stop paying for their shopping as of September 3rd. Theres a name for that . . . shoplifting, thats it.

It's a revolution! Enough people break the law that the lawmakers do not have the means or power to stop it, thus forcing them to submit to the wishes of the masses.

Good point, not thought about that !!! But how about stop paying, and stop watching BBC.... just watch it all the next day on I-player?

Thought this was leading to a link of me talking on the Frank Skinenr Show last week

IMHO, the government should scrap the tv licence fee altogether and make the BBC become self financing through the use of advertising on their channels. They would then survive or fail by their own efforts.
