Hi,
I have a combi boiler, and am in the process of adding a shower to my bathroom. Please can anyone tell me what the best type of shower is to use with a combi? I have heard you shouldnt use an electric shower but I know several people who do. Home Base literature states you can only use a tap based mixer shower, and definitely not an electric, but this conflicts with other stories I've heard, and I'm not sure why you can't do it? Please Help!

A thermostatic mixer shower is perfect for use with a combi, decent pressure and lots of flow.

You can have an electrically heated shower because they are only connected to the cold water supply but I find that they are about use as a sneeze from an asthmatic rat.. Plus the install cost can be quite high if you need to run a new power supply to your consumer unit... And you'll need a sparky to do that.

You should never fit electrically pumped showers to a combi, besides, you shouldn't need it
