Hi,

I'm removing a old flue from a chimney that's no longer used. The other issue is that the current cowl let's water into the flue during heavy rain.

As per the photo there's no pot only the thing that holds the flue. I've removed some of the mortar which had all crumbled anyway.

What would be best (and easiest!) way to cap this off and still allow for some ventilation, but no water?

Many thanks

Drop the stack and tile over roof.

Or remove the protruding bit of the flue and cap off, ventilate and allow for water run off
