What's the difference between these wood preservers

I don't know, but I used that very cuprinol colouring, and it looks great on my fence
 
the cuprinol product is not a wood preserver, it is a stain. Look at Cuprinol Clear Wood preserver. In the hazardous material notes you will find it contains a fungicide and an insecticide. It is a preserver.

Stains will not preserve you wood, and it will rot if in contact with the ground.

I expect the barratine is a stain coating with rain repellent but haven't looked it up.

Thanks yes I'm looking to line the inside with DPM. But I wasn't sure if I should have both dpm and wood treatment for extra protection. Or is it overkill
