What's this post

Found the thread about the missing badge and the holes

I asked mainly because yesterday a poster included a photo of the internal wiring on their Ideal Vogue. It seems clear now, that in order to do that, the combustion seal was broken. But that thread wasn't locked, and no comment was made saying it shouldn't have been done, so I'm guessing the poster is oblivious.
It's also a question of picking your fights.
I mention it in threads, where I think it may help a poster to come to a decision, or if the poster was doing something blatantly wrong.
As someone with limited experience of boilers, I often have to check datasheets to see if the boliers are sealed or not.
So for me it takes an effort to make a comment and I would definitely be labeled a Grinch, if I mentioned it on every post! :)
Sometimes I forget, or let it slide, especially if the poster has demonstrated a degree of competency (with the electrics).
The question for me is, why do manufactures lock away the wiring compartments behind the room-sealed cover in the first place?
Often thermostats are marketed towards DIY'ers, with detailed installation guides; it is not always obvious that people shouldn't be opening up their boiler.
It should be simpler than this.

A few manufacturers havd tried different ways of over coming this, but to be honest it is very low on their list of priorities, Vokera boilers made a range with a connection for controls under the boiler called a D sub, but when wiring to it trying to get it back in was a complete nightmare and if boiler fitted inside a kitchen unit or close to a worktop was virtually impossible to do it sometimes, at least when everything is within the casing then a competent person can get easy enough access
