Where does bathroom tap water come from in tower block

Hello there,

I was wondering where the bathroom water comes from in a tower block?

Thames Water turned off the drinking water once, but the cold water in the bathroom taps was still on. Is there a tank in the roof? The building is 10 floors.

Where does the water in the tank come from? The mains drinking water?

Hakko,

It sounds like your kitchen supply is direct off them mains as it should be and the bathroom is supplied from a communal tank up on the roof of your building.

Yes it is the same water that fills the communal tank as supplies your kitchen tap.

But DONT think about drinking the bathroom water and this will not be a clean as your kitchen tap water.
