where can i find a trustworthy renderer to get a quote from? i havent seen anyone in our area who has recently had it done, otherwise i would just ask them?

Get quotes from as many as you can in the Yellow Pages. Ask to see examples of their work. If they're not willing to show you they're probably not very good at rendering, might be trustworthy people though.....
look on youtube there seems to be many trades there, all showing work they have done.

Make enquiries with "reputable" plastering firms in your area. Most of these firms will do cement rendering, along with other wall finishes etc. It doesn't come cheap, so get a few quotes,, for everything,,, incl VAT.
